    School-Age Care & Kindergarten Support Program

    SACKS is a school-age support and enrichment program for children enrolled in Kindergarten at a school that is doing virtual learning for the Fall 2020 semester.

    About the program:

    • Developmentally appropriate programming (both educational and care) throughout the day.
    • Supervision during morning and afternoon blocks of distance learning with your child’s kindergarten teacher.
    • Activities that build on the topics and goals of your child’s kindergarten curriculum.
    • Qualified teachers who converse with the children about the content of their kindergarten programs.
    • Supervised time for homework assignments.
    • Age-appropriate classroom materials and environment.
    • Individual area (own desk and other optional areas) for your child to engage with their distance learning as scheduled. 
    • Many individual, small or large group age-appropriate options when not working on distance learning (writing, reading, art, library, puzzles, board games, STEM, music, dramatics).
    • Indoor and outdoor play, socialization with friends, and supportive teachers.
    • Nutrition - two snacks a day (provided by the center) and lunch  (provided by parents).
    • Parents will be sent a synopsis of their child’s lessons/assignments each day through Daily Connect.
    • Classrooms are comprised of 7-12 children with two teachers.
    • Hours are 7:30 AM -6:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
    • Children will need to bring their own electronic devices - Chromebooks and headsets each day.
