Infants and Toddlers
Part time and full time enrollment available
We specialize in the care and nurturing of these very young children. Our infant classrooms serve six children ages 2 to 12 months. Our toddler rooms serve 6 to 9 children ages 12 to 24 months. There is one caregiver for every 3 children. Each child has a primary caregiver who performs all of the one-on-one caregiving routines (feeding, changing, comforting, etc) for that child, and with whom the child forms a bond of intimacy. Studies on early brain development stress the importance of a single, consistant caregiver for the majority of the day. This caregiver provides a written daily report for the parent. Our experienced, professional caregivers are carefully trained to help our babies feel safe, loved, and well-cared for. They understand the importance of talking to the children, making eye contact, singing silly songs, cuddling, and gently guiding them through the use of positive discipline.
Our infant and toddler environments are rich in materials which encourage exploration, active, interactive, and quiet play. Once young children develop a sense of trust, we help them to become independent and self-confident and to develop social, language, and motor skills. Daily routines include morning and afternoon snacks and bottles, lunch, nap times, hand washing, and diaper changes. Daily activities include story time, music activities, outside time, and lots of play with age-appropriate toys. Toddlers do art activities each day, using a variety of materials. We have special teachers scheduled to visit the classrooms to present activities in music, and French language.
We provide cribs, cots, sheets, blankets, bibs, sippy cups, utensils and for children over one, snacks, milk and juice.
Diversity is an important part of our program and is emphasized in every classroom. We happily accept children of all races, nationalities, and life styles, and will do our very best to accommodate children with special needs.
Infants and toddlers are accepted on a full or part time schedule, and some pre registered drop-in care is available.
